Playtech gets membership of the Remote Gambling Association
Playtech, a major player in the field of software for online gaming and online gambling announced that it had acquired membership of the Remote Gambling Association (RGA). Playtech had recently acquired the Certificate of Prior Approval from Alderney which is the third biggest Channel Island. It was also successful in the migration of Hard Rock Casino which has an Alderney license. The RGA specifies certain rules for granting a membership to the applicants. The software providers must have a direct license or must have supplied their products to at least one operator of remote gambling that has a RGA license and operates in the European Economic Area, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
The RGA was incorporated in mid 2005. It was founded after the Interactive
Gaming, Gambling and Betting Association (IGGBA) and Association of Remote
Gambling Operators (ARGO) merged together. The organization was founded for
the benefit and welfare of the remote gambling operators. The RGA strives
to protect the interests of the gambling operators and gamblers alike. It
also interacts with the government and various legal and administrative bodies
on behalf of the operators.
Pleased after receiving the membership of RGA, the Marketing Director of
Playtech said, “We at Playtech are extremely pleased with our new membership
in the RGA. Their work is invaluable to the gaming industry, and we feel that
they can represent our interests to regulatory authorities”.
