$2 Million win for a Canadian Man at WPT
A Canada based man won nearly $2million at the main event of the World Poker Tournament i.e. WPT last month. David Matthew, who works as the president of a Toronto based company, won a whopping $1,903,950 on 24th April 2006 when he stood at the second spot of the World Poker Tournament. He was playing a game of Texas Hold’em when he won the spot.
Matthew, at 47, wants to use his winnings to pay off all his debts. He also wants to provide a good future to his family and loved ones. Matthew registered at Paradisepoker.com for an entry to the first stage of World Poker Tournament at the Bellagio Hotel Casino by paying a very small fee of just $25.
He started playing the game when he learnt it two years ago at a Las Vegas Casino. Since then, Matthew, 47, has been playing poker regularly either online or at the regular casinos.
Going to the casino and playing for money is gambling, but playing tournaments is not gambling. It's basically a contest, just like, I would say, Tiger Woods goes and plays golf. He plays a contest, he doesn't go and just play golf. He's actually in a tournament competing against other great players”, said a delighted Matthew
